Bad for your eyesight, right? Nooo, nothing so unimportant as eyesight. More like wrong thread colour usage going undetected, right up to the point of taking a photo to show you my progress.
Yes, I took Mr Squirrel into the bathroom (best light in the house) for a photo only to realise he was a two toned squirrel. Colour blocking in ombre shades. Fabulous.
He is supposed to be the colour of his head and the red-brown of his tail. Not the orange-brown of his bottom half. Looks like tonight's crafting is going to involve a fair bit of unpicking!

I kinda like two-toned squirrel! He is a hipster :-) Love your Cross stitching, each time I see one I am tempted to get out my floss and linen and needle.
I did that, ehm more than once... Before I had my Daylight-lamp! And far worse than this, I took purple and thought it was a brown... XD
I think he still looks pretty much okay, not sure if I would unpick but it might look different in your hands than on your photo...
It's happened to me too. I love Christmas Bambi and the only metallic thread advice I have is use short lengths. It's awful and splitty and breaky after a while.
I laughed- hipster squirrel. Could you not just use two strands and go in one direction over the squirrel instead of unpicking??
loving your christmas delights, they would make beautiful cards
Your cross stitches look great Megan, even Mr Two Toned Squirrel :)
I couldn't even tell until I looked really closely :-)
